Here I showed my vision of Tomiris, the Queen of the Sakas-Massagets (570-520 BC).
At that time, around 530-529 BC, the king of Media — Cyrus, having conquered many countries and received the title "ruler of Asia", went on a campaign to the Great Steppe. In the decisive battle against him, along with men, women and Saki girls participated, who rushed into battle with the queen herself at the last decisive moment. Herodotus called this battle "the most cruel and great." The bloody battle ended with the victory of the Saks, where the Persians did not expect to see courageous women on the battlefield. According to Herodotus, all the Persians died on the battlefield, among them was Cyrus. This was a strong blow for Persia, the military authority of the state among its neighbors fell. The great "ruler of Asia" is no more. So the army of the "ruler of Asia" Cyrus was finally defeated by the Saka princess Tomiris. Having cut off the head of Cyrus, and filled the leather bag with his blood along with the blood of two traitors, Tomiris exclaimed in front of everyone: "You wanted blood, so drink it to the bottom!" — and threw his head into this bag.

Tomiris was a flexible strategist, enjoyed great authority among the population, as can be judged by the fact that after her death, the Saka state was ruled by not one, but as many as three rulers.

Gauhar – batyr (batyr girl). Gauhar's real name is Maysara, she was the sister of batyr Malaysara and the wife of the famous Kabanbai batyr. Gauhar was known throughout the steppe, legends were made about her during her lifetime. Since childhood, Gauhar was the best in shooting and in the military craft. Along with men, she fought against the Dzungars together with her husband Kabanbai Batyr, Bogenbai Batyr and brother of Malaysara. Once the Gauhar detachment was ambushed, in a desperate fight, a batyr girl broke out of the encirclement and brought important information about the enemy. They became decisive in the Battle of Alakol in 1725. Gauhar accompanied her husband everywhere, and after becoming a mother, she raised an equally militant daughter, Nazim, who was later also sent to war.

Historical image, Aibike batyr (batyr girl) is the daughter of Bulanbai batyr, a scout who fought shoulder to shoulder with her father against the Dzungars. Aibike was the head of a reconnaissance unit, which conveyed information about the location of enemies to the commander, and could pave the way both day and night, and even on the most blizzard and foggy days.

Bopai is a collective image based on several historical characters. In our history, the name of Bopai is mentioned repeatedly.

The first was Bopai Khanim (1690/1695 — May 31, 1780) — the wife of the Khan of the Younger zhuz Abulkhair, the mother of the khans Nuraly, Yeraly and Aishuak. During the reign of her son, she bore the title Khan-ana (Mother-Khan) and was one of the most influential women in the Kazakh Khanate. She enjoyed the unwavering respect of Kazakh elders and "had a very strong influence on the management" of the Kazakh clans of the Younger and Middle Zhuzes. She spoke at people's assemblies, competing in eloquence with recognized masters of the word and experts in popular law. Bopai Khanim established good-neighborly relations between neighboring countries, peaceful ties with Russia, thanks to this she managed to resolve many issues through diplomacy. Bopai Khanim corresponded with tsarist administrators, Russian empresses and with Dzungarian rulers. A major specialist in the history of Kazakhstan A. I. Levshin wrote: "... that Bopai Khanim enjoyed excellent respect in her mind, and sometimes had a very strong influence on the management of the Kazakh Khanate. She had a seal with her monogram, a difference not at all common among the people..."

The second is Bopai, who lived in the XVIII century - she was the sister of the last Kazakh Khan Kenesary. Kenesary Khan's sister was closely connected with her brother by great friendship and unity of beliefs, as well as the joint struggle for the independence of the Kazakh Khanate. According to historical documents, Bopai even organized a detachment consisting only of women. In the diary of the Pole A. Yanushkevich, a political exile, dated July 4, 1846, there is an entry in which it says: "...Kenesary lost 1,500 sarbazs, two cannons and about 500 girls. There were women and girls disguised as men in his army." We are talking about the Bopai detachment.

Kazakh women have always been: strong, smart, beautiful, fearless, with their own opinion, with leadership and organizational qualities. That's how I wanted to show them on my canvases.

Historical image, Aitalyn batyr (batyr girl). Batyr girls fought shoulder to shoulder with their husbands, fathers and brothers. Aylkyn, the daughter of Sultan Abylai, Yesenbike, the daughter of Karasai batyr, Aybike, the daughter of Bulanbai batyr and many others participated in the fight against the Dzungars.

It is said that when Aitalyn died in one of the battles, Sultan Abylai was overcome with great grief and anger. Then he ordered to kill all the enemies who participated in the battle to a single one. And bury all the stolen gold together with his daughter.

Fatima, the historical image – was the wife of the khan of the Bukeev Horde Zhangir. She was a very beautiful, educated, wise woman. Her marriage with Zhangir had a certain influence on the development of his intellectual interests. At the coronation of Emperor Nicholas I, where she accompanied her husband, all those present noted the upbringing, manners, and knowledge of the languages of the khan's wife.

Rabia Sultan begim, historical image - a princess from the Timurid dynasty, daughter of Ulugbek, great–granddaughter of Emir Timur. She was considered the most beautiful woman in the East. She was loved and respected, she was engaged in charity work and organized celebrations for ordinary people. Rabia Sultan bore Abulkhair three sons. A mausoleum was built on the grave of the Rabbi in the XV century, which is a cultural value of modern Kazakhstan.

Jer-Ana (Mother-Earth) this is a mythological image personifying our Mother Earth, referring us to the image of the goddess Umai. Umai is a kind spirit, an ancient goddess of fertility of the Turkic peoples, mistress of the mountains, patroness of babies, women in labor, wild animals, hunters, revered by shamans in Altai. The Turks call Umai in different ways: Omai, Ymai, Mai – ana, Pai ije, Natigai, Ubai, Sangai, Otyuken, Nachigai-eke, Etugen, Etugen-ehe, Iroga, Total, Ulu gak ine. The left side of the yurt was considered a clean place by the Turks, there was a place of Umai at the entrance.

According to legends, Umai gave sick children to drink milk from a bowl, and they recovered. Therefore, in the picture, Jer-Ana (Mother-Earth) is depicted serving milk. Since the Earth is the mother, without whom we cannot live a single day, she feeds us, gives us water, warms us, gives us the opportunity to breathe and protects us. Yes, the Earth is huge, but we have only one, and we are obliged to treat it carefully, like a mother.

"Kokbori" (blue wolf). According to legend, the blue wolf is a sacred animal for all Turkic peoples, the messenger of Tengri himself, who saved the tribes of the ancient Turks from destruction.

According to legend, the high-born clan of the ancient Turks was completely exterminated by a neighboring clan. Only a nine-year-old boy survived, who was abandoned without arms and legs by a lake overgrown with thick grass. The boy was found and left by a she-wolf, who later became the mother of his children. Fleeing from enemies, she hid in the mountains of the Eastern Tien Shan in a cave, where she gave birth to ten sons. Her grandson Machine becomes the leader of the tribe. Ashina means "noble wolf". As a sign of respect for her ancestress, Ashina depicts the head of a she-wolf on the banner of her kind. Since then, "Kokbori" (blue wolf) is considered the messenger of the god Tengri, and the ancestor of all Turks.

We associate it with such concepts as freedom and loyalty, dignity and courage, power and purity of thoughts. The golden eagle soaring under the sun on our flag represents the strength of the state, its sovereignty and independence, striving for high goals and a sustainable future. So I wanted to show that the prosperity of our people and the state as a whole depends on our women, no, only on men. The prosperity of our future generations is in the hands of our mothers, sisters and daughters. It is the golden eagle in the hands of a woman that shows the importance of the role of women in our society. At the same time, you see an atypical image of a "female hunter", emphasizing gender equality.

In this picture, I compare a snow leopard with a Kazakh girl. The snow leopard has another name – the snow leopard, which came from ancient Turkic times, which means "snow cat". The snow leopard symbolizes power, nobility, strength and freedom. At the same time, being a cat, he symbolizes cunning, grace, the ability to transform, intelligence, attentiveness, sensual beauty. Thus, I wanted to show that Kazakh girls are like a snow leopard, noble, strong and domineering, at the same time graceful and beautiful.

The daughter of the Nogai biya Yusuf and a descendant of the founder of the Nogai Horde dynasty, Edigey. After Safa Giray's death in 1549-1551, she ruled the Kazan Khanate as regent (her son had not yet reached adulthood), becoming one of the first Muslim women in history to be the head of state. In 1549, she was only 33 years old. She was wise and rebellious.

Legend has it that the Russian tsar Ivan the Terrible saw the portrait of the wise Syuyumbike and fell in love with the beautiful queen. Ivan the Terrible decided to marry her, take her to Moscow and make her the queen of All Russia. But Syuyumbike refused the tsar. It was this refusal that caused the campaign of the Russian tsar Ivan the Terrible to Kazan. The tsar, by all means, wanted to take possession of the beauty. The power of his love did not allow him to give up. And after a long siege, the city was taken by the Russian army. Proud Syuyumbike now had to agree to become the wife of the Russian tsar. Unwilling to betray her people, the former Tatar ruler agreed to become the tsar's wife only if he built a tower as slender and tall as herself in just one week. The tsar fulfilled the condition. The craftsmen worked for seven days and nights to create a majestic tower and erected one tier every day. Finally the tower was built, Queen Syuyumbike proudly climbed to the very top of the tower, looked at her possessions and rushed down. After that, the tower began to bear her name.
